Hi Everyone

this is my first post on this forum.

I’m just asking if anyone has experienced such bad service at the correos in sector B.

On three accessions I have unfortunately had to go to the Correos to check if a parcel had arrived.

On all accessions I have been treated really poorly and find the staff very abrupt and rude.

On one accession when sending a parcel to England I was charged double the correct amount and had to request a refund.

I have lodged a formal complaint with Correos and have been asked by Correos if I knew of any other complaints in Camposol.

I  think we could all voice the same complaints about Correos  in Camposol : the lack of daily home deliveries of mail, no separate dept. solely for parcel deliveries, everything you need has to be  queued for at the counter -( taking far too long for most people's liking). This is all down to understaffing of the service being provided. The ladies at the counter are too busy and too few in number to do any better. I have never seen more than 2 people on duty; and one of them has to go out to Sector A mail room, and also deliver any parcels with customs dues to be paid.. and all the time being given more and more work to do. Last time I was frustrated there was when I tried the new Santander cash withdrawal service to see if I could save anything on charges. - Queued for 20mins. and then it wouldn't work!  Grrr!

We have to appreciate that queues are a fact of life. Before we left the UK, it was not uncommon to have to queue in the post office for up to an hour just to post a letter. I find the ladies in the Correos to be helpful, but then again I do speak to them in my Spanish.  Most of the queues are caused by people who do not have post boxes there, queuing up to see if there is any post for them and who make no attempt to speak to the staff in the language of the country they live in. This means the ladies have to go and search through the post for the street in question and they have to do this numerous times a day. Very often, customers can be seen to become antagonised towards the staff because they can’t explain what it is they want, and the ladies do not deserve to be treated in this way.

I agree, I find both of them perfectly nice if you speak to them nicely, don't forget you are  in Spain and should attempt to speak the language

I should perhaps have added that I have seen better service from Correos elsewhere - when I lived in the Port I had everything delivered daily to the house; by Anna on her little scooter, and she would also take any stamped mail you had to go .The Correos office there had convenient stamp machines, - but there were still long queues at the counters . Funnily, when I moved to Camposol. Anna had been transferred there.- a friendly face for us, but a totally different way of receiving mail.

Spot on.

I have always found the staff at the Correos in Camposol friendly and helpful.
It does pay to at least try to communicate in their language. If need be, I type out what I want to say & then use Google to translate it, before printing it. Alternatively, I have used Google translate on my phone.

I also have a Correos post box. This saves unnecessary queing and staff faffing about to check on mail delivery.
If a parcel arrives, a note goes in my box. Then I queue to get the parcel.

How hard is that?

We are guests here and Spanish culture is not the same as that in the UK (which is not the same as it used to be either!).
