Hi all, we should be moving at end of September, so getting ready.

One of the things we need to know, is-     If we buy lighting in England for the Villa, can these be fitted in place of the ceiling lighting already in the ceilings of the Villa? or does the wiring not match up if the lights are bought in England?

Is it the same if we want out side security flood lighting  fitted, and buy the lights in England?

Thanks.

Same power in Spain 230 volts ac ..all you have to do is change the plug's on any appliances that you bring over or simply use a converter adapter ...the ceiling lights are the same as the UK also ..but you might need a spark to fit them.

Do you rely want to carry them? I wanted to change the fittings in my house, (both wall and ceiling), and had visited lighting stores to check on what's available. Today I went Leroy Merlin. (A bit like B&Q with touches of Homebase). Really impressed with their choice and the knowledge and help from staff. Similar price to UK I would say.

There is a chain of stores in Spain which sell nothing but lights and light fittings. There are such stores in Mazarron town (on the left road going to port), Totana, San Javier, Cartagena that I know of although I can’t think of the name. If you buy lights from them their electricians fit them free. The lights are not extortionately priced and there is a vast range. I can not see any point in carting them from England.

Nice one, as you say, no point in carting them down from GB.

Problem solved.

Light bulbs are much more expensive here. Bring a stock from UK, just remember all screw fitting here. The night time sensor bulbs are 3 times the price here.
