Must admit that I know no Spanish at all but on Camposol this is not required. however, the Murcia region in general is still quite Spanish and I have come across a few restaurants where they do not speak English and so we do struggle a bit

Agreed that Mercers were not pushy at all as I think the vast majority of the properties and the urbanisation sell themselves quite easily with a good choice of properties to meet all budget requirements

Would suggest to get in soon because if Corvera airport opens which is now virtually a certainty then many of the locals expect this to have a positive impact on the house properties...!!

Hi

I was hoping to be in a position to sell up and buy over in Spain late this year however I now have 10-12k to find to cover my daughters wedding - didn’t factor this into my plans as she was always adamant that marriage was not her thing even though she and her partner have been together for over 8 years.

So I will have to put at least another year in at work and hopefully make 2019 my year to move over so will have to keep up to date on the status of Corvera.

Cheers

Hi

Thank you for your response and I will certainly be having a good look round later this year.

I plan to stay actually on Camppsol rather than just view a few properties - incidently the viewings were with Cristina from Mercers who was very helpful and not out for sale at any cost.  She showed me the roads largely effected and I made notes for future use but lost quite a few of my notes not just from Camposol but Mazzaron and Torreveja also so have to recoup information.

I did like the relaxed and friendly atmosphere whilst we were out and about viewing and although I am trying to learn Spanish I’m at an age when I don’t seem to absorb and retain info like I used to lol - so being in an area not wholly Spanish will prove beneficial.

Cheers

Camposol is not in the least bit Spanish. I lived there for 3 months and couldn't stand it any more. 2500 Brits live there and I reckon 99% of them don't speak a word of Spanish. If want a decent experience go to Puerto de Mazarron. Lovely place and a few Brits but not too many. Camposol is just UK with sun but if that's what you want, go for it. If you want to feel you are in Spain, forget it, you'll think you're on a housing estate in the UK.

It is a fact of life that not everyone wants to come to Spain and integrate into a Spanish community. Personally, I could not think of anything worse so completely understand the desire to locate to somewhere were many things will still appear to be normal

I will be looking to learn some Spanish as Murcia is predominantly less commercialised and so many of the areas still struggle with English as we struggle with Spanish so it is a good idea to understand the basics, however, it is very clear that Camposol is made up predominantly of retired English speakers so integration will be much easier

Integrate? How can you integrate when you are surrounded by ex pats. As for the Spanish struggling with English.... Why should they have to.?

If the person moving to Camposol does not speak Spanish and is struggling to learn then integration into a community where English is spoken can only be a good and easy thing

I did not say that the Spanish were struggling with English, rather that they do not speak English as the local area is not so commercialised and so from their point of view there is little reason to learn. Not saying that is a bad thing either - just a fact

I don't know about the B but A is great. It's under the local council so all the services that go with that are available. A LOT harder to find property there, which kinda tells it all.

Mazzaron council, has given planning permission for a pig farm next to A sector I read no more than 30,000 pigs though ,is that the good news .that's a lot of pigs a lot of squeals ,flies and dirt .This Mazzaron Council treats  the British expat community in contempt. Cdip is right ,the only way is to vote  in our own Councilors to affect things on our estate.30000pigs next to A sector what's that about?I wonder if our Mare  has one next to her house.?
