Another thought against it as a plan. Who gets protection? All residents or only those that pay? Just like the original fire services would only put out fires of houses showing their sign. Ah! The good old days.

It is optional, but relevant question, your property is as valuable as residents, so a D/D into a bank or police account? would be the answer, or just not wanting to be part of the plan.

sdb137 -  Idea finished  - why would that be   Just because you have received a bit of negative feedback disagreeing, you are giving up on your idea . You dont have the courage of your own convictions !  Take it to the relevant Councillor and see what the response is. It may be time for them to look again at the prospect if enough people want it  who knows, it might even be totally funded by the authorities with no contribution from us. I personally have no problem with the present situation, but would not refuse extra help.
