Hi before Brexit I used to rent on Camposol for up to 90 days. I would drive over in my UK registered car by way of ferry Portsmouth - Santander. Will I still be able to do this as a holiday maker?. I am thinking of coming over Jan- March 2023. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions from anyone that has done similar since Brexit, including Ferry prices for car and two people. Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi there,

You can stay 90 days in 180 in the Schengen area. Day 1 is when you land in a Schengen country, not when you arrive at your destination. There are online calculators that can help you work out your dates. you can still drive your Uk reg car here while in your holiday.
I can’t help with the ferry fares, as I live here and have never used them. I am sure that someone will comment with their experiences.
Hope that helps and good luck

You need a UK sticker rather than a GB one, so I sssume the same applies to number plates. Probably best to check the Gov.uk site for confirmation

Hi my wife and I drove over last July if my memory serves me right it was about 1'000 euro return (you need to check on that? We had to have UK sticker on the car and number plate the number plate one's we got UK stickers from any car parts suppliers such as Halfords but I think you can get them on the ferry but might be best to get them before you set off we stopped at a hostel on the way down it was cheap and gave us a break coming down hope this helps 🏜️

We stayed just under 90 days last year travelling via Bilbao as we have a small dog. We are hoping to secure a 2-3 month rental in around Costa Calida.
