holidays in august

I have taken my holidays in August on numerous occasions, but I have always avoided going anywhere as it is the month the Spanish take their breaks.  We went up to Torrevieja some years ago but could hardly find a parking space so have never done it since.  Mazarron is probably the same, never ventured there either.  Camposol is great though.  Yes, advisable to book table at restaurants but the evenings in the Commercial Centre are wonderful, outside live entertainment fantastic, only cover is a blanket full of stars - just what memories are made of!!  I like it in particular as the water in the jacuzzi warms up by the sun to a balmy 30degrees with no other help and you can be in it til 10pm.  BBQ's on the roof - can't wait.

thanks for your post ,i have taken a rental with with a pool never had a pool in our old place for the reasons you just mentioned ,was thinking it would be very busy so maybe a few nights around the pool with barbecue and a few in the local restaurants, i crave my chilly hot prawns at the spice villa and also the food in picolas below,  and was thinking it may be well advised to book a table at least if it going to be busy we will have a place to escape to if we want. we wouldn't be coming in august but as we are bringing our grandchild we have no choice with the school hols in UK  again thanks for your info

Yes August is busy on the beaches but if you plan ahead and get there early no problem always plenty of sand to park up at but parking on road by Bahia Bay is a bit of a problem if you are late arriving. There are plenty of beaches around though. I found that putting a massive square beach cloth down marks your territory as the Spanish do like to get close. I have never found the supermarkets overly busy and don't find Camposol over crowded during this period.
