Hi there, I am planning on a move to Spain in 2023 I have seen some beautiful villas for sale in Camposol. Would you be happy to share what life is like in Camposol for newbies coming in from the Uk? It will be myself and 9 year old daughter possibly my 70 year old Mum.  I would need to find a secondary school for my daughter and maybe a community club to join for mum and I.  We love the Spanish way of life but would be nice to get involved with the community as a whole .

Thank you

Victoria 😊

Have you read what you need to do to be able to come and live in Spain post-Brexit?

You will need a visa, private health cover (which could be at considerable cost for a 70 year old & a child), an income of some 22,000 Euros plus 2 x 6750 ( check the figure when you do the research). You will not be able to work without a different visa, and jobs are very difficult to find.

Thank you Peter, the income won’t be a problem as I can do my  psychology sessions online. Thanks for the heads up on the visa I will look into that. I realise a lot of things have changed now including dog passports. Something else I need to sort out.

Thank you for your help 😊

Camposol suits some and not others. You should really rent before buying. It’s not like living in Spain as there are so few Spanish there. In fact, people can live quite easily there for years without speaking any Spanish.

Hi Victoria.

I would agree renting on Camposol could be an option.

When i first went i wasnt enamoured but the more i went back the more i felt comfortable, it hasn't got a good reputation with others, but i have a mind of my own too.

My advice to you is yes as has been said, reasearch areas a little more you have the time, but do not exclude camposol, there are fantastic properties for sale as i found out after 5 years of searching.

Also there are plenty of children around and many clubs to join for all ages.

I wont lie it takes time, but it does happen.

But one thing i will say, if its your dream make it happen sooner rather than later, im sure you wont regret it.

I see where your coming from, but dont tar everyone with the same brush (I live on Camposol) you can take Spanish lessons on site and use it when out and about. Its fun and also (for us) we wanted best of both worlds 😁on Camposol we achieve that😁. We love to be out and about in the small villages (for coffee tapa) but just dont want to live in them as there isn't enough socially for my husband and I to do. Camposol provides the tne social aspects for us (in none covid times) we have the triangle May to September (free live entertainment paid for by the bars) August we have (free entertainment again) at the Fiesta weekend😁😁 and we love it. 😁😁

Victoria,

Your visa application will be for Residencia y trabajo If you already have an online business and provide a robust business plan in your application, you dont need to meet the income criteria already, just show that you will in the future as an autonomos.

That way, you will need prepaid private health cover for one year, then as a Spanish tax payer, your whole family will receive free health cover thereafter.

On a separate note, consider some other areas in the province besides Camposol. Towns like Los Alcázares for instance have lots of housing options, a friendly expat community but many more Spanish experiences.
