Unfortunately I was unable to attend the meeting  but I have just seen this posted on another site.  Sad to say  will Saturday's meeting been similar promises?

"Here's what Gaspar Miras Lorente, the present mayor of Mazarron promised Camposol on Thursday 7th March 2019, ie when he was a candidate for election :

''We will set up a Municipal Branch Office in Camposol, which will offer services including the receipt of documents, registration on the padrón, taxes, public information etc.

This office will be manned by the Councillor for Strategy in Camposol who, with your support, I have no doubt will be SILVANA BUXTON.

There will be a permanent POLICE PATROL 24 h a day, 365 days a year.

We will provide a municipal cleaning team for the streets of Camposol

We will resolve the problem of public street lights which exists in some of the streets in Camposol.

We will set up a public library on the urbanization''

Silvana is doing her job while battling health issues. COVID pretty much stopped the idea of the municipal branch office, nobody was allowed to go there anyhow because of the lockdowns.

Public library.....what's the use? To me a library was relevant 20 years ago. Highly dated concept in my opinion.

Fixing the street lights has started.

Street cleaning: I have seen an increase in street cleaning. Some will say it's because it's an election year. That might be true, it might not. We will have to see what happens after the elections. Did previous administrations clean the streets in a frequency the Camposol residents found sufficient?

24/7 Police patrol: the Mazarron county lost 12 active policemen during the Covid pandemic which have been replaced now but their training before starting active duty takes 24 months. 9 have already completed their training and are on active duty.

What they also did:

Finishing the tender for maintenance on green areas including Camposol. Work has already started.

Completing the tender procedure to retarmac the dual carriageway (nearly completed)

Architectural contract initiated to correct the Camposol Plan Parcial

Creation of the round table in order to resolve the problems of the rambla de los aznares.

Seizure of the bonds due to Camposol from the developer Masa of nearly 3 million euro.

Construction of a children's play area

Construction of the football pitch

Construction of the dog park

Work started on the construction of the outdoor sports area on sector D

Planning negotiations and sale of unused council land on Camposol for the construction of the Private hospital. Start of the build of the Private hospital.

Provision of dropped kerbs to pavements in parts of Camposol to improve wheelchair and pushchair accessability.

Repairing the temporary bridge between sector B and C.

Repairing potholes on the dual carriageway.

Clearing & cleaning up the plot of land in front of the hotel on Sector C.

And more.

Not bad for a 4 year period considering the fact that because of the Corona pandemic all activity was basically halted for 2 years. No other administration in the history of Camposol has accomplished what the current administration has basically done in 2 years. With the current administration we have a dedicated councilor for Camposol. If and when another administration is voted into town hall Camposol will loose it's only official and direct voice within the Mazarron council. We will go back to not being represented at all. Please don't tell me the CRA will represent us because Camposol residents are heavily divided and the CRA only represents a small percentage of all Camposol residents.

Hi Helen, I answered a similar post from you/Hazel Davidson on Facebook earlier. Buggy has set out in some detail, the achievements of the current administration in their two years of uninterrupted tenure. We still have to hear any achievements of the PP party other than some from over ten years ago, and some of those seem to be of dubious integrity. No claims have been made of any Camposol improvements In the four year uninterrupted tenure of Alicia of the PP party as mayor. They have produced no credible information about any proposals if the are elected next week and the most likely outcome is that they will undo all the progress currently being made in respect to the rerouting of the Rambla, road repairs and lighting.

If that is correct, why didn’t the PP party, when in power from 2015 to 2019 spend any of this type of funding on Camposol? The citizen participation programme was an initiative of the current administration and is one of the reasons why in the past four years, we have started to see some improvements on the urbanisation. I am still waiting to see something un writing from the PP party about their plans for Camposol if they are elected. I did ask at the meeting and it seems we are not important enough to be included in their plans.

Public library' a great idea if similar to uk' use of laptops and more people still read books than use ebooks.

I have no idea if this is actually true but even if it is, why does it matter? Why is it important to you who paid for it? This just sounds as another attempt to discredit the efforts of the current administration.

Bottemline: these amenities are a welcome addition to Camposol and we all benefit from them being there. Camposol residents didn't have to finance them so I really couldn't care less about who did. Fact remains the current administration made these new amenities possible.

Now instead of complaining about the current administration could you please inform us what your beloved PP party has planned for Camposol for the next 4 years? What is their masterplan for Camposol and what guarantees do we have that they'll actually do what they say? You have been asked these questions before, I'm really hoping you'll supply us with some answers..........

Here's a nice uplifting story about UIDM & PP:

UIDM taking legal action against PP and Alicia Jimenez
