We are considering buying on C21, but are aware of subsidence and legal ownership issues, can anyone help with their honest opinion as we are not in a position to make expensive mistakes, your help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

If going to buy on sector C especially higher C - get a full and thorough survey done before parting with any monies. Could be worth a visit and have a look around the sector. We bought in D29 last year - no issues.

Personally we wouldn't touch it with the preverbial barge pole🤔 but if you do then please make sure ALL papers are present and correct. Hope this helps...of course ..its only our opinon, so don't want any backlash to this post. Thanks

My understanding is that the hill top on upper C was bull dozered away and the ground needed to settle. It was not given time to settle before being built upon.

I would imagine it now has settled and movements have stopped. Obviously it has left a legacy with the services infastructure as well as garden walls, dropping paths, steps, sunken patios etc. The houses are built to withstand earthquakes with piled foundation so probably few are a danger.

Someday, the infastructure will all need fixing and it is the responsibility of the property owners in the street to fund it. Could an awfully big bill be around the corner?

Brexit will further hammer house prices in Camposol next year as the steady flow of new British expats will all but cease. Holiday home rental from British owners also becomes a nightmare due to tax changes.....we become non european tax status. Many properties will come onto the market, who will be buying them? The new 90 day rule (no more than 90 days in every 180) means holiday home ownership becomes less attractive as well. I was spending the winter months in Spain.....next year I have to choose carefully.

As an investment..... buying in a predominantly British expat development will be a disaster. Buying in the least desirable area of such a place.....even worse.

I would suggest that by 2022 prices will have fallen at least 25% from now and a deflationary spiral can't be ruled out taking them still further downward. Covid and restricted lending by the banks will add further downward pressures which is why I'm so pessimistic!

The Brexit voters need to hang their heads in SHAME. They got nothing, will get nothing and sacraficed our freedoms in the pursuit of nothing. Flag waving morons the lot of them.

Thanks to everyone that responded a frank and honest view, it is a do not go there opinion that has been fed back, it has saved us a potential financial disaster and we very much appreciate your views.

For those of you that are currently living in this nightmare, my thoughts are with you.

Good luck and best wishes.

It amazes me the number of people who see cheap property and want to buy without even knowing the area. There is always a reason property is cheap, visit and you will see the problems experienced, especially on Upper C. Best advice has already been given, get a good and thorough survey done.

Isn't all of your property cheap and nasty then?
