Hello

Can anyone advise me regarding re roofing the solarium on my Clasico?

Do I have to remove the current tiles and membrane or can I just lay a new membrane and new tiles on to of those that are already there?

Thanks for any advice.

Flo

That is exactly what my husband is doing on the solarium roof of our Rosa. He is taking the upstanding tiles off and putting new membrane on top of existing tiles going up the wall, obviously sealing with a torch, then laying new tiles down.

Existing tiles and membrane should be removed prior to laying  the new finishes, starting from priming the surface and investigation why membrane failed in the first place. Keeping existing floor finishes increases the risk of new finishes failure due to dislodged tile or trapped water between the layers.

If you are going to the trouble of doing the job I would be removing all the old tiles & membrane like Dangerous says.

Hi everyone just wondered does anyone know how much the rolls of membrane cost and where is it available?

Kind regards Leigh & Donna

You can get the membrane and roof paint from Leroy Merlin. You can check prices on their website. We did our roof terrace after discovering a leak.  Not difficult to do. It cost us about 300 euros. We used liquid rubber and bitumen as extra protection. All good we had a few days of heavy rain. Problem solved. Good luck
