Does anyone remember the days when Camposol  B,C,D sector was being built. The lorries and dust in the mornings and the excitement of waking up with the sun blasting through the bedroom window, cheap food and drink. Yes those were the days.

PS. No electricity, water bills or council tax to pay.

Yep remember them well.

The roar of a fully laden concrete mixer ??

Convoys of Masa trucks with the concrete house walls on ??

No supermarket, no Chino, & no petrol station.

Music outside the Commercial Centre on A until 2.30 am.

And of course an exchange rate around 1.50.

Those were the days.

2003 actually on A.

The concrete mixers used to have to do a loop onto A to get to B.

First came to the area in 2002, A side was built but the only building the other side of the road, not a motorway then, were a supermarket (I seem to recall it being a Dutch supermarket) and a DIY place. Over the next few years B sector was built and by 2005/2006 C & D gradually appeared. Each year we could nit believe the amount if building taking place.

Would you say that was in the good old days OR is it better now.

What are your feelings now guys?

We have only known Camposol over the last two years so some history would be interesting.

I remember when Masa first released Camposol in 1996 Dennis Lehey was the initiator of the prefabricated building's the first time Masa had used this method.

I had a holiday home at the time at their Oasis site in Los Alcazares and knew the developers.

I first visited Camposol with a proposed site map when it was just fields, no show houses nothing, they then built 4 show houses, where buyers were flocking to., I purchase a Fortuna Deluxe on a 600 mt corner plot, the price was an astonishing £28,000 I paid an extra £1300 to have a legal under build which was 2.6mt high, came with a door concrete floors water and electricity. This was also included on the deeds of the property.

Eventually the properties started to be built and I took possession of mine in 1998. By then Mariano restaurant was built, this was mainly for the builders and I remember having many and excellent menu del dia  for about 4 euros including a bottle of wine.

Eventually the commercial centre was built and the first two bars were the Cubana, run by a Belgium couple Lourdes and Walter, then Tells bar. Allan's supermarket opened shortly after, they also had moved from Los Alcazares.

Buildings started to go up everywhere, unfortunately people were stealing bricks, cement, gravel and whatever they could. What most did not realise they were not stealing from Masa but the contractor which were given a set price to build each property.

When I eventually moved out full time in 1999 I became involved in selling property and sold many houses on B, C and D most being very happy with their purchase, the good old days.

There was always a good community spirit on Camposol and I am pleased it seems to have survied.
