Hi All

I am looking for some information regarding entry to Spain for non resident property owners. We own a property in Camposol and are hoping to get back out to it in mid June.

We have booked the ferry from Rosslare to Bilbao and was wondering if any other non resident property owners have used this route lately and if there are any problems gaining entry to Spain.

We both have had our 2nd dose of the covid vaccine and will be travelling on our irish passports.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

John and Sandra

Think you will be okay as there seems to be hundreds doing the same thing to avoid borders. Join the band wagon. Not that I agree with what people are doing.

Hi, thanks for the reply. We have changed our ferry booking 5 times from last year and each time it has gotten more expensive. We live in Northern Ireland so logistically it makes more sense to travel out from Southern Ireland.

We are staying for 2 months and will be bringing our 2 little Yorkshire Terriers with us as we would not even consider putting them in boarding kennels.

The British and Northern Ireland government give out confusing and contradictory advice regarding foreign travel on a daily basis and this is the reason I have asked the question I did, we would be devastated to arrive in Bilbao only to be denied entry.

Thanks

John and Sandra

My friend have just done exactly that from Belfast with no problems at all...take plenty of food as they say only the main restaurant open on the ferry.

Hiya, can I ask a question about your Irish passport, sorry if I sound daft (I am haha) I was born in Belfast but have not lived there since 1969 I have a British Passport. What is the benefits of having an Irish one as someone at work changed hers before 31 Dec. Thanks x

An Irish passport affords you EU citizen and therefore privy to all EU regulations, unlike UK, USA and other nationalities who are subject to a different set of regulations which are viewed by UK passport holders as being more stringent and unfair rules, eg length of time allowed to be in the EU as a visitor, changes to health care and the financial requirements for gaining citizenship in Spain and changes to taxes etc.

The joys of Brexit.

But I imagine you would only want an Irish passport if you identified as Irish.

Anni.

Hi we have made the same trip 3 weeks ago and it was great the connamarra is not one of the nicest ships to travell pretty basic as it is a no frills crossing . We took the Wednesday crossing as it was a one night crossing . The staff and organisers were very good. I suggest you take a sat nav with you as driving in spain at night is pretty difficult. They also have a great choice of menu in the restaurant and very reasonably priced . I hope you have a safe and enjoyable journey.
