The nearest secondary school is approximately 5klm away in Mazarron...you need to be accepted as a resident before you can send you kids to a public school... apparently it takes around 3 months provided you meet the requirements for registration .

Not true. Our son was in Spanish state school 6 months before we became residents.

Spanglish..on the 31 January the UK is leaving the EU ...I think a (UK none EU citizen) will find it very difficult to send a none residents kid to a Spanish school... without the parents being registered as residents ... until you receive your Residence permission you will be classed as a coming from a none EU members country ..so why would the Spanish want to spend Tax payers money on education of a holiday makers kids on a holiday makers Visa.. from a none EU members country...

You will not have a residents bank account until you are accepted as a Resident ...when you apply to become a resident you will need proof of income this is approximately €6,000 per year... per adult if you are under UK retirement age you will need a private health insurance for each adult ..for the first year costs around €150 per person per month ...after the first year you can then go on the Spanish NHS system this will cost around €80 per adult per month...you will get a lot of information which is wrong on forums like this ...so I think you should make further enquiries yourself.

Again incorrect. no private health care required. My wife and I are 40 moved 2 years ago.
now my wife has  a 10 hour contact that covers myself and child.

We had no other income. When given residency.

Just savings of 40 k

Most people only have experience and advise for pension age  and up.

And ff are we really goi g to leave on 31?
who knows

Just a thought?

I have been a resident in Spain for 20 odd years I wonder how many people that are giving all this advise are actual legal resident and pay there taxes here and not go backwards and forwards to the uk while running there businesses? What will they do if Brexit happens?

Also how many of them have actually had children that have gone to school here, therefore  giving first hand experience?
