Hello, I'm not currently living in Spain but have been learning the language for a couple of months, an hour or so a day to assist me when I do make the move.  I use an on-line AP - Duolingo.  It is free to sign up and it is three pronged - listening, reading/writing and pronunciation.  Know, it may not be what you want in the long term, as you are looking for direct classes, but it may help you in the short term.

Hi there,

I have been learning with Cristina López Martínez, who has a school in the port. She is an excellent teacher, who teaches Spanish correctly and according to your level of knowledge. She also has small classes between 1 and 6, with an absolute maximum of 8. Lessons are not expensive and work out about the same as some other classes that have 30 or so students. My wife has just left one of these and starts with Cristina shortly. If you are interested, you can contact her at [email protected] or 616 413 739

Good luck!

Or MSBCMB why don't you try both?

I am currently using Duolingo ahead of a move to Murcia but plan on taking more intensive face to face lessons when I get there and may give Cristina a try.

I'm learning using Coffee Break Spanish and for me, it's so much better than duo lingo. It's conversational done through podcasts and you'll be able to speak basic sentences from the first few lessons. I highly recommend it.

I started using Duolingo and only found out, when I started lessons with Cristina that Duolingo is based on South American Spanish, which is a lot different than you will learn here. E.g. carro vs coche and esposa vs mujer

Good luck

I have been using italki an online language programme. It's great got me speaking spanish right from the start and you can do it as a pair. You have a choice of spanish teachers who can put together a syllabus for you or a spanish partner who have learnt spanish and want to help others who also want to learn.  Teachers are more expensive but prices are really good and you can pay weekly so if you can't make one week you don't lose out. I thoroughly recommend it.
