Approximately   €80 per month to have someone clean it ..once a week ...and approximately €20 per month water bill depending on the size.

Maintain it yourself the cleaning companies are a rip off if you are living here permanently. You will spend about 200 euros initially on equipment which will last for years then about 20 euros per month on chemicals.

We pay 60 euros per month for a 1 x week cleaning in winter and 2 x per week in summer, products included.

Once we live here permanently my husband will do it himself, but the chemicals are also expensive.

I noticed that even CONSUM supermarkets sell pool chemicals, but the quantities really depend on the type of filtering you have, the actual size (in cubic metres) of the pool, the outside temperature and how many people use it!

For my family use, I reckon on cleaning and checking chlorine levels every 5 or 7 days in the summer. It shouldn’t be too difficult if you are there permanently.

I have 2 baskets in my pool filter and I put 2 large, slow-release chlorine tablets in each basket about once a week, half a litre of anti-fungus (again, depends whether it is very concentrated or very liquid) and relatively small amounts of ph plus in the pool itself. You would need to check out prices of these products to work out how much it costs per week. Good luck. J

would never recommend chlorine tablets in skimmer baskets, water flows past at fast rate when pump running and tablets dissolve to quickly...over time the chlorine attacks the pipework of pool....best in a floating chlorine container...more slow even distribution

We contacted a pool maintenance company, who showed us what to do and when.they explained the whole cleaning process, how to test for pH and chlorine balance and how and when to add chemicals.  They did charge for this but it has saved us time and money in the long run.

Never heard of the chlorine tablets being placed elsewhere particularly if you have a PVC lining in the pool as I have. The tablets last around 5 days with the filter running for around 8 hours a day. But good to know a different solution. When I have a Spanish pool, probably with a different filter system, I will be checking this out. Thank you.
