Hi all,

We are looking at a move maybe next year and are hearing many different views on living on the Camposol  and also back here in the UK about moving to Spain in general .I would like to hear peoples, thoughts and feelings on the subject, as I don't want any scaremongering to influence the decision, thanks in advance

Hi Richard and Nicola

We are doing the same, but to buy a holiday home first then move out in around 5-10 years

We are going out in October to look more closely at properties and make our own mind up if Camposol is what we will be happy with

Everyone looks for different things , but there are a lot of helpful people, just take it slowly and read up

We are moving over from Scotland in September we have bought a great villa in D..

My wife is Irish so coming in on EU freedom of movement.

Section D is great for us quiet and great views.

Decent price with pool.

Lots of paperwork but we’ll worth it.

Hi there, good luck with your plans. I would recommend that you rent here first for as long as you can. Camposol is a bit like Marmite and the best way to see if it suits what you are looking for is to rent first. We live on Sector D, which is furthest from the shops and amenities. It is nice and quiet which suits us. Sectors A and B are nearest to the shops, bars and restaurants. Something like 80% of the properties are owned by Brits, with more Belgian, Dutch, German etc owning properties, since Brexit. Sector C has the golf course and club house, but as with D, no other amenities. Transport wise there is a bus service that runs from Sector A to Mazarron and the port. For us, being on D, a car is essential for going anywhere. The great thing is that we can explore Spain without getting on a plane😇  Hope that helps. If you consider buying on D, please check with the agent/lawyer if properties you are looking at are built on the Rambla de Los Aznares. Approx 600 are and this is public land.

Hi we bought on D 4 years ago and decided to move out full time 2 years ago. I took early retirement and my husband gave up his job. I done a lot of research and made sure we could survive on my private pension. We already had a car here which you do need. We have private health care which has been great. My husband goes to the gym everyday and Spanish lessons once a week and has joined a pool league in a bar on B so he has met lots of people. He also goes to watch mazarron play football home and away with people he met in the gym. So far we have no regrets and hubby said he would not go back to live in the UK. Its a great community and every one helps each other out. Good luck.

Hi. Just waiting for our visa which should arrive this week coming hopefully then heading down to Spain to our new home on sector B, We did everything independently with regards the visa, so If there is any questions you have regarding visas or buying, just shout, we'll be happy to help anyone wanting to making the same decision.

Life style and weather for us was the driver,  we did research of different areas being inland and more coastal but price and location meant we always came back to camposol.

What we would say is know what angle your coming into Spain on.ie selling a UK home or cash buyers, mortgage, already have a holiday home.. Therefore you can plan a path without being bombarded with things u don't need to know.

For us buying in spain with our solicitors has been a breeze, not one bit of stress. Selling our home in the UK gave us no end of stress and frustration.

All the best,

JBT x

Hi Both,

welcome to your journey, we have just completed ours and have no regrets at all, we bought on Sector D and love the peace and quiet it affords

the only advice I would give is to make up your own mind and speak to as many people as you can regarding what you want to do, speak to an honest Agent (We used 2let2sell2buy whom are and were great) and ensure you get the best solicitors (ones whom do not pay Commissions to Agents as you need them working for you we used MMB they are the most expensive but they really do all that is possible to protect you from both yourself and any rogues

whilst we were looking we came over for the weekend and looked at approx 40 properties and made our minds up there and then

if you need any advice just send me a message

most importantly enjoy your journey

Lee

We have just bought on Camposol and are moving in September. We also bought through 2Let2Sell2Buy.com and Dawn and her team were great. We worked with an independant lawyer and we're happy we made that choice. We did not rent before we decided to buy on Camposol. We thought long and hard about what exactly we wanted out of our life in Spain and already had a good list of requirements for our new home under the sun before we went to Spain to do our property search. We drove around all the sectors of Camposol several times to get the look and feel of each sector (during day and night). We visited the bars and restaurants on sector A and B and took a couple of days to explore the Murcia region. We visited Murcia, Isla Plana, Bolnuevo, Puerto de Mazarron, Aguilas, etc. This gave us enough confidence to buy without renting first. Eventually we bought on sector A because of the location of the house (shortest drive to the beaches), the look and feel of the house and the street it's on and because of the proximity to all the amenities (bars & restaurants on sector A and only a 600 meter walk to the commercial center on sector B). This is the third time we move to a different country (born in Holland, lived in Belgium and currently living in Sweden) and we've met more people in 2 weeks "vacation" on Camposol than we did in our first years in Belgium or Sweden.
