Hi I’m new to forum we just bought on Camposol and I’m looking to put shelves and secure furniture. How hard are the walls? I know they are prefab concrete. I had a nightmare trying to drill holes in my UK house. Do you need specialised drill bits??

A good masonry bit should be fine. I tend to do it in 3 stages, 3mm, 5mm and then 7mm for my plasplugs. Just seems to be easier on the drill. Cutting out for a cat flap is another story though 😖. In our Rosa all interior walls bar one are the hollow terracotta bricks, so much easier to drill into.

Thanks Phil, We've a Classico looking at the floor plan majority of walls will be external so would be

solid concrete. I get you on the 3,5,7mm as thats what I did with the concrete at home. follow on would be best

place for power tools??

Have heard it said that in fiestas, clasicos, Rebeccas and Fortunas that none of the internal walls are load bearing, so if you want just one big open space .........

Leroy Merlin in Cartagena has a good wide range of tools, will deliver as well, carriage charge on a small order should work out cheaper than cost of fuel to drive there. Local builders merchants opposite mercadona do tools as well, just much less choice.

Ha yeah! We originally put a bid in for a Fortuna and was gonna do just that to re- jig the floor plan. Back to walls again what sort of plugs are you using? Are they like plaster board type or just trad masonry?

PS- just in case you don’t know Isla Plana— it’s not the first  Pepelino you pass on the right- that’s clothes, papers suitcases - all kinds of everything, but the one further on, on the left in the town, before the chemists. It does close for lunch too. Jaz

Camposol concrete is as soft as butter until you hit a piece of metal reinforcing !!
