Laminate flooring

Whilst I've not installed laminate flooring in Spain, I have had both laminate and solid wood flooring installed in homes in the UK.

Both were installed on a layer of insulation, which for the UK was to insulate for warmth, but also for noise / comfort, so you could expect the same in Spain. Depending on the quality, laminate flooring doesn't really suffer from fading in sunlight, but it can expand & contract with heat, so you would need to consider that. If it was in a room where there was regular heat and direct sunlight, it could warp & crack possibly.

All laminate flooring expands and contracts even in the UK. You have to leave a gap of approx half an inch all round and cover that with a coving strip or skirting.  This is why they are often referred to as floating floors. Not tacked down at all, essentially just sitting.

Exactly right, 8-10mm gap all round even in UK.  For our place in UK we removed all the skirting first and then replaced with new to cover the gaps, giving a better look. If we had realised how soon we were to sell and move here l suspect wewould have gone the secondary moulding route, quicker, cheaper and easier.

Although responses have been informative, I too was hoping someone with first hand experience of having laid laminate/hardwood in Spain may have shared good or bad.

Maybe nobody has laid any laminate flooring in Camposol because is not feasible ??

It's feasible but as it's not cheap for good quality flooring my guess is not many entertain it. As more of our floor tiles crack/chip it might be an option for us, will let you know in 5 or 6 years 😁 low on our to-do list. Generally laying laminate is easy to do as a DIY project, but harder to do well.

I've done, high quality one moisture resistant 8 or 10mm thick, can't even remember..

 Been a while, keeps as it should. I built plywood subfloor first nice and level. Is no difference between UK or Spain, the principle is the same but do yourself a favour and don't go for the cheapest one. 

Guessing you want to overlay existing tiles or this is the new floor?

Yes, was planning to lay on top of current tiles and will ensure I don't go cheap!
