This is an update to my previous post and to say thanks to those who replied with information and suggestions, especially the folk at Camposol Residents Association who were most helpful.

I was awaiting an update from my solicitor before I posted again. He has said the paperwork difficulty arises over some structural works at the house that were done without permission. The Deeds can be transferred to me and the permissions can be obtained retrospectively, with the previous owner paying the cost. I have agreed to this and I am looking forward to being on Camposol soon. Thanks again.

We had issues with ours due to the conservatory. Our solicitor insisted it was added to the deeds and the seller had to pay 1200. It was quite simple to be done and everything was sorted. Good luck
