I am quite amused that you make so many assumptions

(One) being the fact that I sold my villa?? have I??

(Two) I sold many properties on A B C and D sector as did all agents.

(Three) Masa actually went broke long before Camposol  and was bailed out by the goverment.

(Four) Dennis Lehey (English) was the person responsible for Camposol and introduced the prefabricated style of building to Masa.after being very successful in Oasis and Milpalmaries.

As I said before this original discussion was for suggestions which I gave and did not expect to get involved with a keyboard warrior who chooses to use language not really fit for a general web site.

And I can assure you my knowledge of Camposol and Masa is very much up to date.

Hi

I bought a cheap 2 bed apartment in Santiago La Ribera for 48.000 euro the asking price was 63.000 and this was through an agent (wished I offered 45.000) if you don't ask you wont find out.

Hello Shazza

Los Alcazares is a lively town on the coast, plenty of night life for young and not so young and is also in the region of Murcia.

Hope this helps

I think asking for 20% off (€100,000 =€20,000) is a big ask ...around the 10% mark is a good starting point ..you have got to take in to consideration the length of time the property has been on the market and the condition of the building before any offer's are made .

Interesting! I feel we have been done. Lol. We bought a 2 bed 2 bathroom house last year (it's 30 years old) in santiago de la ribera .It was on the market for 60k and we paid 59k. we tried to get the price down to 55k but the seller wouldn't budge. I guess it all depends on where the property is and how much you want it, whether you are prepared to pay near the asking price. We felt the house was in a good location (10 minute walk to beach and shopping mall) and we couldn't see anything similar on the market for 60k. There's plenty of apartments for sale, but not many houses that fit the bill. Our neighbours reckon we got a bargain! BTW, Is the catastral value the actual value of the property or is this a made up figure?

I am amassed at some of the so called apartments that people are trying to live in ...most of them remind me of a dogs kennels you can't swing a cat in ..and yet they try to fit the contents of a 3 bed semi in to them that they brought over from the UK...I suppose these are the ones that you can offer 20% or more ...less than the asking price these places are nothing more than lock up and go home holiday home's they are not designed for permanent living.

Well you could be right. Lol. I know a couple who own a one bed apartment in Mijas costa. You couldn't swing a mouse in it never mind a cat. I like to have a bit of room. I would rather spend my last penny on somewhere decent in a nice location than buy a property based on the price alone. I didn't even look at apartments as I lived in one in london for long enough. I hate apartments and I don't like noise. But we are all different. Some of us want to be surrounded by expats on an urbanisation. And others (like myself) want to live in an area where it's mostly spanish. Well away from the urbanisations. Everyone is different and it's just as well otherwise we'd all be after the same properties.

Latest property news indicates discounts of 15% were generally available a short while ago.  Recently the discount rate has dropped to 10%.  The  left over housing of  stock from the MASA  bankruptcy has been sold off.  Bargains were had and a lot of semi derelict properties have been refurbished.  The general state of the urbanisation has changed for the better and a lot of house for sale signs now have had 'sold'  signs put on them..

OK the roads are a bit rough in places but there is a lot of 'Private Affluence and Public Squalor' about as evidenced by the number of builders trucks  full of concrete blocks, sand and cement crashing and banging and bouncing down the main road on D sector first thing in the morning.  The morning song of disk cutters still echoes in the distance. Extensions and swimming pools are slowly materialising.  Meanwhile the gardening and road maintenance troops are slowly and steadily  improving the place

There are at least 4  estate agencies operating on camposol. They don't seem to be starving/going bust/offering hefty discounts on fees  -so make of that what you will.

Is 15% too cheeky to take off asking orice when making an offer?

Hi Milloy007

Almost forgot your original question then :)

I think anything between 10-15% is acceptable, seller can always say no and at least you would then have the option to increase (you cant decrease) Personally when I was looking to buy I was looking at properties 10% above my budget.

Incidentally I went on to purchase a property at approx. 15% below the advertised price but that being said it had been on the market for a while and seller by then was desperate to sell.

Go for it! wishing you well x
