Hi,

I recently registered with DKV (in support of my residencia which I now have). Other than some emails, I have not received anything else like a medical card - should I have?

I need to do a couple of things…

  1. I need to see a dentist somewhere close to that area would be best.
  2. I need an eye test and new contact lenses and glasses.
  3. I need to see a doctor for a repeat prescription - do I need to register with a GP Practice/Health Centre as I have current health needs that need to be met with medication I can no longer get from the UK.
I recently went to a DKV clinic in Mazarron but they didnt speak any English (my fault I know) and my Spanish is still developing.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks.

We are also with DKV.

From their web page you get the adresses for the doctors - in english.

After the contract signed we got a "package" with the healthcard a week later

By the way do you have the dental insurance. Cost us 2 (67&75) € 180.00 a year. -but we found out xray is not covered.

Very surprised  that the receptionist did not speak English. We have used the dentist and physio at DKV, both of whom were excellent.  Every time we have rung them they have spoken in English to us.. Obviously they answer the phone in Spanish,  then speak in English once they hear my atrocious Spanish..

If you can get to Mazarron, I would use their dentist, she is very good and speaks English.
