Doctor registration

Hello,  You apply to the U.K. Overseas Health Care Team.  They register you on their system.  They then send you the S1.  You will need to have to hand your National Insurance No. they usually ask also Date of birth and your address in Spain.

Get the telephone number (sorry I don't have it to hand) for the health care team from Gov. U.K. or do internet search.

If you have a dependent (who may not even be of pension age) then they can be registered at the same time.  Same info to hand and it's best if they are beside you when you phone as they will ask to speak with them.  Everything is recorded.

Your S1 comes ready populated from DWP ..ring them and they will send it to you...takes a few weeks though. If you're living here you need it to prove you have healthcare when applying for residencia. You take your S1 to INSS who givevyou a temporary tarjeta salud to take to your nearest healthcare ans they will register you with a doctor. Our proper card arrived three months later.

The process does vary from each region but should be similar.....

yes you can still use NHS if you need to when visiting UK
