Yes I own my own villa, but I have no proof of income as I don't work, and I don't "duck and dive" as you put it, I am totally up front nothing to hide and have my residencia

If you are a resident of Spain and you do return to the UK for a holiday you may very well be charged?

However the Spanish have the equivalent to the European health card "Tarjeta Sanitaria Europea" which I applied for and received in 10 days. so all I have to do if I decide I do want to return for a holiday and become ill just present the card.

Something else people may not be aware of is the possibility of a bus pass I have a pass that entitles me to 999 journeys on the busses and trams of Murcia city when the numbers run out I just renew the card.
