Possibly many thousands of euros in operations and treatment for €40 a week for two? Cheap as chips!
You have to cautious trying to compare health insurance costs, as there are lots of factors that will influence the price - age, BMI, cholesterol levels, past history, lfestyle and so on.

Thank you, regards Al
But the amount you save in council tax compared to the UK more than covers it 😀

Hi. We are slightly older, early sixties and the first quote was just under €5000 and the second €2800 for both. It’s significantly more than we pay in UK council tax!

Surely everybody does a "balance sheet" like they do on the 'wanted down under' tv programme?
Income tax, mortgage, healthcare, motoring costs, food and drink etc. will all be different in every country - and in different parts of the country.
Add in factors such as language comprehension (speak it or costs of interpreting), availability of tradesmen, furniture, clothes and so on - good and bad, and of course if the climate suits.
There is no such thing as blissful ignorance.
