After being resident for a year I thought you could go onto the state healthcare scheme?

But to become resident you must show that you have healthcare cover before you are here long enough to qualify....a EHIC card only covers visitors and in any case may be worthless if Brexit happens.

Try ASSA in Mazarron, we are both in our 60s, and it was very reasonable, also a requirement for applying for Residence.
