You don't get the likes of Specsavers at £100 including a eye test for two pairs of prescription glasses in Spain..so if you are looking at saving money get your glasses in the UK.

We both had our eyes tested at Multiopticos on Camposol sector B and we paid no more for 2 pairs of varifocals each than we would have done in the UK once our UK opticians added on all the extras on top of their 'basic' price. On top of that the service was excellent and much more professional.

Another factor for getting our specs done over here was change of lifestyle,  no more squinting at monitors for 10 hours a day and we noticed our eyesight had changed a little after a few months here.

I work in optical at Asda and have a holiday home at Camposol buy your glasses in the uk they are a lot cheaper especially varifocals free eye test for over 60 and often free sight at boots and spec savers.

Thank you , it’s just reading glasses I need and I’m not eligible for free tests as not yet 60, although I feel it some days .

We have had friends who bought from Specsavers in Spain, needed several visits to get them right at 100km round trip...same applies to buying them in the UK, the time and distance to sort out anything wrong.

We have always bought specs in Soloptical in Spain - instant eye tests, OH referred to hospital to get something checked that they had spotted, glasses ready for final fit and collect within 2-3 days, and reasonable price. These have been for essential use like driving, opted for reactolite lenses.

For reading your cheapest bet is the racks of self-select in many Chinese stores and others.

I too had a wonderful experience at multioptricas (?) on Camposol B, with a very nice, cheerful and friendly Spanish Lady Optician who certainly knew her onions when it came to eyes! Happilly for me she spoke English rather well, and did a grand job for this Grumpy-old-Grandad! She tested my eyes with all the modern gadgetry, and got me two pairs of polarised polychromatic varifocals with the spring-hinges that I always insist on, anti-scratch, anti-glare and one of the pairs with a blue relective mirror tint, -ALL for LESS than SpecSavers  AND Asda had quoted me back home! I shall certainly be returning to her next time, without a doubt!

That’s brilliant, Thankyou, it’s always good to support local companies where we can too.
