We would love to move permanently to our house in Camposol but worried about support for my Husbands declining health with Parkinson’s and support for me as a carer. Its the only thing that holds us back. Is there specialist Dr /consultant that have clinics for this condition does anyone know?

Here is a link to various associations that support people with age concerns which also includes Parkinsons. They would be able to direct you to where medical assistance would be available.

This one refers to the Costa Cálida/Murcia.

There is a specialist at the quiron salud in Murcia. We have been a few times ( for other issues) and its an excellent hospital full of specialists. Hopefully you have S1. We don't and have private health care and still had to pay €1000 for a pet cat scan. You probably are aware of forget me not to give you a couple of hours respite. Heather spence is an excellent carer if you needed more help and i think her charges are €20 an hour. If you need a cleaner to free up your time I know one for €10 an hour.

I dont think in Spain you would qualify for carers allowance but worth investigating.

S1 is for healthcare if you are pension age. If not private medical care will be very expensive with pre existing medical conditions. If you have uk passports have you looked into the non lucrative visa to be able to live here?

I suggest 1st getting a quote for private health care. You will need it for the visa anyway. We are with asssa. They have been brilliant and we can see the doctor at the business centre on A or Rover in the town. Their office is by Tesco food co. You can get a quote online. Also try dkv to compare quotes.

We are 56 and 57 and didn't have any pre existing conditions and was €1800 for both of us. Once you have been resident a year you can go on the social health system for €60 a month each but it rises to 150 each for ages 65 to 67

The state system costs 157 not 150  each between the ages you are 65 and 67. Dont know why. But the state system does cover pre existing conditions. I think prescription charges for certain medications are quite expensive.

For your personal situation you need to get a quote for private health care as you will need it without co payments to apply for the NLV in uk to be able to live and not work in Spain. Its not as easy now after brexit. You need to check if after your 1st year you can go on the state system at 60 each a month. Convenial especial. You can then use the spanish health care system and docs behind the pharmacy on A.

With Asssa our premiums do not increase as we get older. We chose for the 2nd year to stay on private as waits to see a gp are horrendous and you will need a translator. Both our doctors in the business centre speak English and are very good and we can normally get an appointment within a couple of days.

Its a lot for you to consider. You also need to consider at the moment you can not swap your uk licence and I believe you can only drive for 6 months upon being a resident or take spanish test. This is ongoing so hopefully there will be a resolution soon

Luckily we gained residency and swapped licences before brexit and we are part of the WA so our state pensions will still increase.
