Hi there,

Not sure what you were reading in 2018 and 2019?
Probably the most significant events are the court decision to give the local council just under €3million of bank guarantees, after a long legal battle. This has to be used to carry out work towards completing the urbanisation. It is nowhere near enough to do everything, but it’s a start. In addition the council has allocated circa €800,000 for work to complete dual carriageway on sectors C and D. There are still many roads that have not been completed. Public lighting is very sporadic and some streets have added their own lighting.
The IBI (council tax) is much lower than in the UK. It depends on house size but will be between about €200 and €450 per year. The issue of Community fees is controversial as they have not been implemented in most of the sectors on Camposol. There are about 6 sectors that have communities of owners and these are the non Masa houses, where they have communal pools.

As for the golf course, I played it recently with my son, after an absence of playing for many years. It is challenging, with many hazards, but was very enjoyable. The fees on their web site are for 2020, so I am not sure if they have changed for 2021. I have listed them at the bottom of this post.

If you are going to buy on Camposol, I would recommend that you rent here first, to see if it is for you. The majority of the population are British, with many other nationalities. It is not a traditional Spanish environment, so depending on what you are looking for, it may or may not be to your liking.

If you do buy, make sure your lawyer checks that the land you are buying, does not have legal impediments. Recently a resident reported that their sale fell through because the bank refused the buyer a mortgage because there was a legal impediment. To aid that process, it is advisable to choose a lawyer that is independent of and not recommended by the local estate agents. Best to be safe that sorry.

Hope this helps and good luck with your search
