I know it sounded like a dumb question 😂, but I am at the early stages of dreaming about relocating to Camposol in the next year or two (we hope to come and visit in January to start exploring properly) and I currently own my own carpet cleaning business. I’ve been assuming that there won’t be much call for my skills in Spain as I suspect everyone has lovely shiny tile floors.

That leads me to my follow up question... are there employment opportunities for people on there mid 50s who still need to earn a little pocket money?

My wife and I are both Brits, but I have an Irish passport which should help with some of the Brexit anomalies that might arise.

thanks for any feedback, or advice on a potential move

Cheers

Dick & Sally

Carpets are few & far between in Spain so carpet cleaning would be a non starter.

Employment opportunities are virtually nil as unemployment is around 40% plus & getting worse with the current situation.

Sorry if it sounds a bit doom & gloom.

Not doom and gloom at all, I’d rather know the facts lol.

Thanks for your response

Alot of people have rugs that need cleaning and also not forgetting their sofas. Good luck. Within a couple of weeks  I applied for my social security number and I got offered a part time job. There are plenty of opportunities here for those here full time.

Thanks, I do clean a lot of upholstery and rugs... and I can use my equipment to clean hard floors/tiles (but some training classes required if Iqant to go down that path lol)

Thanks for the positive reply, food for thought for sure

Hi.....Roland is always a bit doom and gloom, he is right in one way about not many people having carpets, but as another poster (positively siad) we still have runners, suits to be cleaned, we do have a chap here on Camposol already but I am sure there could be room for another one! After all we have two locksmiths here on Camposol already and they seem to have enough work.

Good look with your search, Camposol is a good place to live and  people on the whole are generally fantastic.

As you anticipated,, there are very few carpets not only in Camposol but in Spain in general as tiles are prevalent

However, when we were in Camposol  this year our builder had his 3 piece cleaned by a local for €40. Even he said he would not take that on for what he considered such a low price but curtains, runners etc. still need to be cleaned but honestly have no idea how much call there is for that work...?
