Hello all,

Just a quick hello 😊 My partner, our children and I are moving over to sector C this June. My partner Adam is a highly skilled builder/multitrade and will be looking at getting registered as autonomo asap.

We are looking forward meeting new people and integrating into your friendly community.

Please feel free to make any recommendations or give any advice you feel necessary, or just say hello 😊

I think you will find that you will need to be accepted as a resident... before you can apply to become self employed in most cases it will take up to 6 months or even longer in some cases especially if you are under retirement age ...I take it you are so you will need a private health care plan in force that will cover both of you untill you are accepted a residents ... when your( partner ) finally becomes self employed ...the self employed contribution he pays ... around (€250 per month) will cover him for free Spanish NHS as you are not married unless you get a legal job that pays your NHS contribution you will still need a private health policy in force ...for your self good luck i it all works out for you ...but be warned your partner is up against Morocan builders that are very good ...and work for peanuts compared to the the money you are earning in the UK.

Hi, thanks for the reply 😊 yes, we have looked into all aspects of this already, but always good to have clarification from those in the know.

There are always setbacks, delays etc but if we only listen to that side of things, we wouldn't ever do the things that make our hearts race 😊

Have you been in Camposol long?

πŸ˜„ that's a good sign. That people are happy to stay there long term is definitely a plus. We have seen a fair bit of negative stuff written about the place but each to their own. We'll see for ourselves lol.

Have to say, we have certainly been swayed by Expat in Mazarron on YouTube,  very informative 😊

So pray tell us Roland what do you know that the rest of us don't...about finding a legal paying job in Spain... especially if you don't speak  fluent Spanish...on the kitchen fitters post you are going on about illegal workers and so on... so I really don't understand your comments.on this post.

Nice place to eat.... Our house, my wife is a great cook and there is always a well stocked "wine cellar" (fridge and cupboard) 😊

Good to know πŸ˜‚ to be fair, my fella is a fantastic cook. Looking forward to the weather over there because he absolutely smashes a bbq! Will take a rain check on the wine though, he's lager or Whiskey and I'm partial to pink gin (for future reference πŸ€£πŸ˜‚)

We retired here in 2017 and we are so glad we did. For sure you will encounter a few difficulties but you will meet the challenge. You will hear both positive and negative opinions so the only way to work things out for yourselves is to do it.

Good luck Lynsey hope all goes well for you and the family and of course you can always drop a private message with the invite to the BBQ.

We will bring our own wine and if we get our pension payment maybe a Scotch and Gin for you two.
