Hi

Looking for a ball park figure for the above, we are not extravagant ie. going out socialising every night, we need some idea of costs for two adults with our dog on a weekly basis with tv/internet access all utilities, food, car insurance tax health insurance etc.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

For two people if you own the property outright..  including all basic living expenses then you are looking at around €350 per week just to get by... this does not include money for socializing if you have a swimming pool then allow a extra €80 per month on top for a pool cleaner and the extra water / electricity / chemicals to run it.. as for private health insurance this is based on age and past medical history so you are looking at around a minimum of €65 per person per month if you are a fit as a butcher's dog. ..warning you can't get by on just a UK state pension on Camposol no matter what anyone tells you...I would also advise you to allow money for socializing and day's out ..as you will find that life on Camposol / Spain is based very much on socializing/ eating and drinking out ... personally speaking I think the only things that are cheaper are cigarettes/booze/eating out/Council tax.. everything else is either more expensive or the same to buy...for instance if you are spending £50 per week on bread/ milk/and Daly food in the UK ..then don't expect this to get cheaper in Spain.

Hi our health cover was just over 1700 for both of us no medical conditions both under age 60.

Our car insurance was 240 tax 130.

Our latest electric bill was 114 using Air con and hot tub. We have allowed 100 per month throughout the year.

Some weeks we only spend 50 on food including booze if we pick up some bargains. We budgeted for 75 per week and use markets for fresh produce.

We are using approx 50 a month for diesel.

Gas bottles for watee are only 15 and last ages.

Water bills have on average been around 55 every 2 months.

Heating will depend on what type you have. The houses get very cold in the winter and we have a log burner.

Our ibi is about 200 per annum.

We are with telecable for Internet which is great with no buffering at 30 per month.

If you want a good iptv service add another 150 per annum.

Our house and contents insurance is 120 per annum.

Hair dressers are alot cheaper than uk. I pay 25 for my nail infills.

You need to factor in any bank charges which are quite horrendous here.

Factor in costs for taxes and any one you use for tax returns as well.

I hope this helps and gives you idea.

Hi ibex

They were very good when we had a water leak under the house.

We were quoted over 300€ by them.

Stayed with Liberty in the end.
