Spain is not the only country in the EUwhrre Brits are located so many countries have a geared interest in the cash that comes from UK residents in those countries as well as tourism in general

I disagree that everything is settled as so much will still be for negotiation and just feel your anti Vrexit bias is taunting your views and opinions

With specific reference to Camposol it has more than 3k residents and if they remain not impacted, with the latest investment from the council plus this to be continued in the coming years I would argue that there is actually a lot going for Camposol

The council has committed 550k this year and pledged more for the coming years. That can change as councils change but this is the first time in many years that the council has acknowledged a degree of responsibility to Camposol

For the last 3 years or so the debate on Brexit has been going and first was won democratically to leave and then again in a unanimous decision for Boris with a healthy majority

Did you not envisage any of this happening in your planning or should everyone change their minds for your benefit. Your personal situation is no different to thousands of other Brits in other countries or those from the EU looking to move and stay in the UK

However, you are more than welcome to sit and feel sorry for yourself and still believe that we and the world owe you a favour...

I still disagree on your general outlook but that is fine as it is exactly what this forum is for

However, we do agree that if your prophesy came to pass then so many urbanisations in Spain would suffer the same fate as well as many others living in the EU

It is my opinion that the various EU governments could not afford to let this happen as they will not be compensated by Brussels as they no longer will be getting the UK billions. That being said it is hard to know who will be right or wrong

I guess if you are looking at a half full glass like myself, then I would say buy as Camposol is a great place. If your glass is half empty, like yourself, then clearly you should not make move

Maybe wait until the transition period is over before making any decision as the rules will/should be clearly defined by then

CFC1905,

I agree Spain will not allow money to drain away from tourists or people who want to retire.

In 2019 September the Brits on holiday in Spain brought in 2.5 MILLION EUROS EVERY HOUR OF THE MONTH.

Spain cannot lose this amount of income, there whole economy would start to crash.

They will have a slight dip at first, as everyone is worried about travel, because its been made so uncertain of what will be required, but the UK knows also, if its people do not go on holiday, they will lose out also, planes, hotels, travel agents etc, etc, cannot survive without them.

Brits who live here bring in millions of Euros, and take nothing out, Spain cannot afford to lose that either.

Spain will look after itself, and that means anyone who is here, or wants to come here, its a cert.

Of course everyone is worried, its only natural, but we should all continue to promote our way of life here, and Camposol is a great place to do that.

I see things slightly differently, and predict Camposol will flourish, Brexit or no Brexit, its a amazing community, and the Spanish council know it.

I also have spoken to Spanish lawyers and they are all of the same opinion that until we get to the end of the year nothing is finalised. There is still room for negotiation

It is also worth mentioning that not everyone wants to become a resident either, many are more than happy with holidays

I think we should agree to disagree on this one for now

Camposol will be a great place, and will be a example of what can be done to attract many others to come and live.

Spain will not allow thousands and thousands of Brits in particular to pack up and go, its not financially viable to them in any way.

However, we must not forget that on Camposol we must at every opportunity get out and VOTE when it comes around to get as many councilors in the town hall who will have a BIG VOICE FOR US.

NO EXCUSES, when the time comes again, and it will, we must support each other, and turn out in BIG VOTES FOR OUR FUTURE.

So lets push ahead, keep a great community spirit, and encourage all to come and live here.

I have no doubt at this very moment Spanish Government  all over will be planning how to keep all of us in Spain, and keep us happy, along with supporting holiday makers.

I would like to say what I think the Brits would do if they had to leave there properties as they could not sell them, and just had to walk away, but I do not want to upset any one.

It will not come to this, Spain knows how much we put in, and it keeps them going.

All do as much as you can to support Camposol, and be proud of it.
