Obviously everyone has there own preferences and desires, but for us the peace and quiet on D won us over totally. Yes you will need a car but having visited A we could never envisage buying there. In our opinion to old and just looked dirty but that is not to say we saw everything

So I would congratulate you on deciding on Camposol as the community spirit appears to be great regardless of which sector you opt for but ask your estate agent to provide you with a decent selection of properties on all sectors to help in your decision making...

...

Did that picked a for proximity to amenities but thanks for advice

I would suggest before moving permanently getting a good lawyer/accountant (get recomendations) and also renting either for a few months or even permanently as living here has changed a lot from a few years ago so you do not want to get caught out - it can be very frustrating and expensive if you...

... do not do things correctly.

Fully agree, rent first, check everything out, visit villas for sale, look at everything, then decide.

Hi Allan , I went to Murcia last weekend to see a house I am buying near Lorca , I was thinking about a few houses in camposol before I found a house in Lorca but decided to take a drive around Camposol before I came back to the uk and I am glad I did not buy in camposol, its like a big estate in the middle of nowhere and I drove down a few roads and was shocked at how bad the subsidence was in whole rows of houses it was like an earthquake

It is well documented that over the years there has been subsidence and flooding which has obviously caused some damage but only in a few limited locations

Not sure why you think Camposol is " located in the middle of nowhere" as I would argue it is very centrally positioned. Only 15 minutes to beaches or Totana train station which opens up a whole host of opportunities plus the port which is lovely

As stated many times, Camposol is not everyone's cup of tea but it is a lovely place with great atmosphere and attitude

People need to visit all sectors and rent for a while if they can just to get a feel for the place and then make an educated decision

Hi, Camposol has had its problems over the years and investment is need.

However if I have read it right, the bond that Massa had to put up to the bank for its construction has now been released for Camposol, so work can be done.

If I am wrong I am sure some one will put me right, but that what I read, and its 3 million released, also 500 hundred thousand that the council gave Camposol at the begining of this year?

Its a start, and thats fantastic.

So lets hope it does not get spirited away, and never placed in the coucils bank account for holding, as it will never be seen again.

Exactly and as such all pay taxes as holiday owners do as well so the potential for regular income for the council

If they did the basics like lighting, which another thread indicates has been addressed, plus the state of the roads then that would go a long way to appeasing many of the residents

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Its a catch 22, Mazarron council has always said Camposol is nothing to do with them, so they should have nothing to do with the released bond, its not theirs.

Upon release of the bond, it should be placed in a seperate bank account, delt with by the CRA, but this will bring problems, as who decides what is spent on what.

No council appointed contractors should be given any work, as that enables the council to rip of the bond with costs of work.

All contactors must put up a seperate bond to secure and guarantee their work, and must bid for the contracts.

Yes it could take years to sort, but its a start.

The main thing again is, no bond money is placed in the Council bank.

We exist, and we are not going away, so Mazarron best get used to it.

First round won by us.

Good day Allan, I bought a 3 bed 2 bath villa on sector C6, I have a huge garden and a huge under build which could be converted into another flat, (I chose a games room for the family and grand kids) yes there are problems on some sectors, such as mine, where we are still trying to get the stree...

...t lights working, also I was not informed by PAL solicitors that it was a private community, not that that would have made a difference anyway, but it would still have been nice to have been told. there are problems with subsidence on some villas, but they are up at sector D, the rest of the urbanization is fine, and as Frequent flyer wrote, there is plenty to do there. It took me 3 years of flying back and fourth to different areas such as Torrevieja, san pedro del pinitar (personally i thought it was a dump) pilar de la horredada, amongst many others, but as soon as I rented a villa in Camposol, I loved the place. as for Gem100 comments, do not let that put you off, maybe she was referring to Mazarron country club, as nice and pristine as it is, there is only a communal pool and a clubhouse there and nothing else, also check out www.bluemedinvest.com  they do viewing trips also, and have lots of bank repossessions at very low prices, that's who I bought through. anyway, best of luck, I hope you find the right place.

Stuart
