My husband and i are hoping to retire next year to Camposol , but we are worried about the river beds over flowing and losing our property.  Does still happen and which area should we avoid . Thank you.

Hi,

Do your research carefully, although we are informed all has / is being sorted.

Look all up on the internet re CAMPOSOL flooding, and you will have all the information.

Then come out and talk to the community in the area you want to live.

A little time on research can save you a lot of worry later.

I am sure all the new water flow was being sorted, which would stop the previous problems, but check for yourselves first.

Good luck, its a great place, so come on in.

You need a solicitor here in Spain they will arrange everything for you including your utilities etc. Re the flooding it was quite a time ago & due to severe weather. If you buy on A or B Sector it will not be an issue as those sectors weren’t affected, although it’s unlikely to happen again & like the stories about Camposol online its old news.

You will need a solicitor here, recommend PALS.

If you are buying through a property sales, then go to MERCERS, ask for Dawn, she will explain all.

MERCERS will not sell any property that does not have all the correct paperwork, this is very important.

PALS the solicitors who carry out work for MERCERS will check everything, and insure all is on the deeds.

They will also arrange the Bank/Water/Electricity for you, it takes a lot of worry away.

We used them both, and never had a problem.

We bought this year, we used E&G Solicitor's In Spain, they have office in UK & Spain, they sorted out bank accounts, utilities etc - worth giving them a call. We also used Luz Del Sol estate agents.

Ask the insurance companies. They usually keep records of places that flood. And they can refuse cover if there is any history of flood damage claims
