We are hoping to move to Campasol but would like to know how rates and taxes compare to UK and cost of living generally for food and bills in comparison to UK.
Taxes are generally more expensive in Spain, Water is reasonable if you don't have a pool, electricity similar to uk.
Fuel for car is cheaper as is car insurance.
Food is generally cheaper especially fresh fruit and veg as long as you don't want British brands as they can be double.

If you enjoy a drink or a cigarette you will be £'s in.
Thanks for your comments I meant local authority taxes but your other info is helpful anyway
Rates are less expensive here,we pay approx 250€ per year 😆 ( not had bill yet as only moved in late October, figure is from previous owner) in UK we paid £140 per month.. 😣

Electric more expensive, water cheaper, food more expensive(uk food), IBI (rates) cheaper, car (purchase) more expensive but running costs cheaper, if you are not of retirement age you will need medical cover (very expensive) you will also need to prove an income
Food more expensive ????
No it is not ..........
