We are hoping to move to Campasol but would like to know how rates and taxes compare to UK and cost of living generally for food and bills in comparison to UK.

Taxes are generally more expensive in Spain, Water is reasonable if you don't have a pool, electricity similar to uk.

Fuel for car is cheaper as is car insurance.

Food is generally cheaper especially fresh fruit and veg as long as you don't want British brands as they can be double.

Electric more expensive, water cheaper, food more expensive(uk food), IBI (rates) cheaper, car (purchase) more expensive but running costs cheaper, if you are not of retirement age you will need medical cover (very expensive) you will also need to prove an income

Food is way cheaper!!! the obvious saving is ‘Council Tax’ we were £245 per month and less than that per year here. Beer & Cigs excellent price here 😜
