We are considering buying a villa for use as a holiday home for the 90 in 180 day period. Can anyone advise if we would need a Spanish bank account, phone number, non-residential certification etc. and is there anything else we need to know before taking this step? We were considering Cyprus where utility bills are emailed and paid on-line... is this something we can do in Spain? Camposol appear to have all the services we would need to make the purchase, but are we missing anything?

There are plenty of previous posts on this Forum with step by step guides to buying in Camposol & Spain in general so have a browse around on the search option, you will definitely need a Solicitor and an N.I.E number to buy a property this N.I.E number is linked to your property and used for buying cars and registering untilities etc you will have to pay non - residence tax which at the moment is a reasonable price you can pay your bills online once you own a property so you don't necessarily need a Spanish Bank Account but I'm sure one would help during the buying process, we only use U.K mobile phones and the soliciand unities etc correspondents are received through e mails, Good Luck.

Phil.

Thanks Phil, your reply is much appreciated.

We've read the general information on this site which has been helpful, but some of the finer details were missing which I'm sure would become clearer if we proceed.

Thanks again,

Jacqui
