Hi,

I am new to this forum and hoped for some advice from fellow Brits abroad.

I work for the NHS and own a property here in Scotland but I am ready to take the plunge and move to Spain. My question is how easy is finding work in Campasol?

I have a medical background and speak Spanish in addition to English (mother tongue is English).

Look forward to hearing from you.

Sophia

There is approximately 45% unemployment in Spain.

Finding work on Camposol will be very very difficult I am afraid.

Plus the fact that entry into Spain on a permanent basis is very difficult.

You need to do some serious research.

I am sure you have done some research on moving to Spain as you have mentioned Camposol.

It is good you speak some Spanish and I am sure that when you make the move it will improve immensely.

In answer to your "actual question" I do not think you will find medical work in Camposol, however there are many care homes in the Murcia region that are often looking for recruits. I would suggest that you look on line for that type of establishments you would consider to be worthy of your skills, give them a brief call and find out who is in charge of recruitment, then I would then prepare a CV in both English and Spanish and forward this to the companies you have spoken with.

Good luck in your search an remember there is high unemployment throughout the world not only in Spain, and persiveriance always pays off.

Firstly, you will need a visa:

Either a working visa, which will require a job offer from an employer (and there may be requirements to show that you are needed for the position as it couldn't easily be filled by a native Spanish resident;

Or an 'autonomo' visa, which is required to be self-employed - to get this you need to submit a business plan and then, each year, show have you have performed against this.

You can find out further information on these on the website of the Spanish Consulate in Edinburgh.

Speaking Spanish and, presumably, having internationally accepted medical qualifications and experience, will undoubtedly help.

I'm not very familiar with Camposol itself, but it's a residential urbanisation, so you would probably need to be prepared to travel to Mazarron or Cartagena for a wider variety of roles.

Hope this helps...
