Hi,

My wife and I are looking at Camposol,

Again, D looks to be slightly better value for money etc.

We are looking at 2 and 3 beds.

Looking for the future to retire but as now somewhere to stay 4 or 5 times a year,

My Mum has said she would like to use it for a month to 6 weeks from time to time.

If she has no car, are there taxis or buses to get to and from the shops etc?

Seen a lot of comments and not sure on distance to shops, bars restaurants etc.

My wife and I are 45, we have 3 kids, 6,10,14. Would they be bored here?

We have also looked closer to the sea in other areas but as always, money is the  issue and we like the community feel of the place.

We have £25000 to £30,000 savings but with the 30& deposit and taxes etc, it doesn't seem to go far.

Any help or advice or guidance would be gratefully received.

Thank you

Darryl

Hi Darryl,

We bought last year on the basis of a holiday home on our own or with grand kids etc and to spend more time when retired. Firstly there’s probably plenty to do with kids for a holiday if you have a car, ie going to beach and looking around town and out for meals. Not much on Camposol other than the commercial centres that don’t really have anything for kids. There is no regular public bus service as such.

Lowest prices seem to be on D or upper C sectors, we didn’t buy on either as D is way too far to walk to bars and shops and upper C is also. The golf club is near upper C but we have found that on occasion the bar will close early so it’s a little inconsistent. Also some of the houses on upper C have been affected by subsidence and I assume that’s why their price is low.

We chose not to buy on these sectors but did buy on lower C, subsidence doesn’t seem to be an issue and prices are still reasonable but we can walk to the commercial centres in the evening etc, although it is around a 40 minute walk.

Looking at the budget you have shown to be honest you may as well forget it unless you are really lucky or buy something in a very sorry state, your right when you factor in other costs on top, the agents will tell you to add around 12% to the price and we found that about right and then add ongoing costs.

The best advice I could offer is spend a few quid and get a flight out and look around, it’s not the same as looking online and well worth the investment, don’t get stuck with a costly mistake. We like it and are really happy with what we bought after visiting and having your own place in Spain is great, Camposol looked good online but we didn’t buy what we saw online after visiting.

Hope this helps.

Paul and Sandra,

I thank you for your honesty, I may have to reconsider and try and save for another year.

Just trying to get my head around the whole purchasing thing.

I may take a trip over in November and see what I think of it then,

Kind regards

Darryl

I am not to sure if you are looking at putting a £25/30,000 down as a deposit...or are you looking at buying for £25/30,000 ...if you are looking at buying for £25/30,000 I think you will be disappointed  in reality you are looking at around £55,000 around €60,000 as a starter entry level 2 bed place ...what ever property you see advertise just add 12% on top to cover purchase experiences...the cheaper entry level properties on any part of Camposol don't seem to take long to sell.

You should find what you are looking for with a £55,000 budget .. your 3 kids will not get bored on Camposol especially in the summer time with plenty of live entertainment ...the beach is only 15 minutes by car ..we do have a community bus and a Taxi service ..what most people do is hire a car at the airport ...this is what we have been doing for the last 12 year's and it works for us ... good luck enjoy.

There is nothing for the kids !

Nothing!

No parks no pool no football pitches basket ball courts tennis courts nothing!!!

Yes the beach is 15 minutes by car !! But that is not in camposol!

There are plenty of things to do if you drive at least 15 mins.  (Out of camposol)

Wait for the hate messages I will receive for stating the TRUTH

I haven’t mentioned lack of street lighting subsidence security public transport illegal builds etc....  (because apparently that’s all resolved )

But rest assured there is nada for the kids.

Unless some butlins type karaoke or bingo all situated around the pubs only in the evenings and During summer is there cup of tea

Ignore spanglish, he'll  moan about the sun shining. Plenty of kids in summer months and if you drive plenty to see and do within a 45 minute driving radius.

The place is what you make it.

Don't forget that all kids grow up so don't just buy for them.

Indeed if you drive within a 45 minute radius then there is plenty!!!

I thought the question was “will the kids be bored” on camposol...........

Is there plenty to do? Answer no nothing.

If the question was is there anything within 45 mins drive ..... there is plenty !!

Why not admit it’s not catered for children at all?? Phill / frequent

But more for ret
