Hi,

Just had a look at this and you are right - for the money you can't beat it. However Camposol is not for me, my husband and I went for a visit to look at some houses and there were many that we could afford with pools too, however, after numerous wrong turnings we eventually arrived from Alicante to Camposol desperate for a tapa and drink, BUT we could only find 1 set of shops with a supermarket and as it was Sunday everything was closed it was late afternon so we popped into the pub, the only one we could find to ask if we could get a snack and drink - oh dear, you would think we had asked for the moon, back came a very surly reply, "we only do Sunday roasts" my husband and I just looked at each other and walked out got into the car and drove to the nearest town (can't even remember the name) where we found a bar and tapa.

Camposol has bad memories for me and to later learn that there was flooding in certain areas really put us off - sorry to all of you who live there.

Regards,

Mo

You must have not turned up on sector B then.

As it has plenty of restaurants & bars all day every day ?.

You mention flooding, which did happen  in one of the worst weather experiences in a long time & that was across europe. Not just camposol....

Recently alicante & benidorm have flooded, but nothing on camposol that same time.

I think that explains everything, flooding can happen anywhere at anytime

Yes, you are right , but the videos were horrific maybe the earthquake had something to do with it too.

For the record it is not earthquake damage it is subsidence.

Minor earthquakes occur all the time in southern Spain daily / weekly.

ooops seems someone got out of bed the wrong side. As a matter of fact we did a lot of research but driving "aimlessly" as you put it was not on the cards. We were solely put off by the unwelcoming attitude of the "landlord" of the pub we went into, and after asking several residents was told that this was the only pub. They also told us to beware of certain areas as they were prone to flooding . The EuroWeekly did a magnificent article on the earthquake I believe 6.7 was mentioned - but as a person whom I am sure you are, you can check this with them, definitely an earthquake though.

This and I point out this was my personal view of the area it appeared vast and again after asking was pointed to the "shops".

As someone who cannot walk far I need to be near shops etc. and found this to be to spread out for me. Again my personal view.

Hmm.. I wonder who provided your info. Seems very limited to me and very wrong.

There are many places to enjoy a drink on Camposol. Here, they are called Bars not Pubs..

On sector A there are:

Cats Bar, Tel's Bar, The Sports Vista Bar, Anna's Cafe & a couple of others that I can't recall the actual names of.

On Sector B we have:

The Trevi, Alley Pally, Bar Salud, The Diner, Oscar's and The Black Bull. There are also several restaurants that also serve booze. I think I missed a couple of Bar names out!

On Sector C there is the Golf Club House. Booze & food are available.

All of the above will also serve decent Coffee and many have music on some evenings.

Evenings are lively, you choose your own venue and preferred atmosphere.

you dont jump in a car from alicante then just drive without knowing the area, plan ahead, u done no research whatsover, everyone who visits campo knows theres 4 sectors, are u seriously telling me u booked a flight not knowing where u were going, had u done research u wldve known previous probs in campo, looks like its your attitude here, just so happened the barman had off day and ppl wernt helpful, hmmm think yr bullsh*****

u looked at some houses with pools? so were u with an agent, no , so u  allegedly drove past ,glanced

if u were serious abt campo u  wldve popped n to see an agent, on sect b ,and seen homes close up, but not on sunday

so like i sd u are not in a position to make informative assesment of campo,

then u end up in a town u cant remember name, where were u heading ?

did u see majorca floods when nadal was out helping , u see, floods happen to the rich "locals "  as well

Hi,

Every where you go in Spain you will hear horror stories, and many parts of the world also, just look at the latest poor Brits in CYPRUS , who have lost there homes, and no one wants to know.

Buying on CAMPOSOL is a safe bet, and if you use a good solicitor, and sales agent, you will have no problems.

We used MERCERS and PALS, and you will find they will NOT sell you anything that is not legal, and all paperwork is checked and verified, we know we used both, and all is sorted.

CAMPOSOL is a great community, yes it still needs work, tell me a place that does not.

Since the day we moved in, everyone has been so helpful, and given good advice, and support, that takes a lot of beating.

Think carefully where you buy, good support around you is priceless, and you never know when you may need it.

I don't think it's fair to trash a place from one look! I don't live in Camposol but I am part of this forum. Camposol is not running for elections so why the "Drive by shooting" other's dreams??

I've read where different people that want to move in Camposol ask the same questions over and over but yet Camposol residents do take their time to answer them all, over and over.

I don't think Camposol residents should be defending themselves now for living in Camposol!

You drive around once and you've giving "Death sentence" to a place you don't plan to live but you want to make sure those who live there feel guilty for their decision. Or, to those planning to purchase in Camposol to feel confused. It doesn't take much to plan seeds in the heads of the insecured. All these wasn't necessary. If you didn't like the place, move on to find your paradise. After all, if you're not happy inside you ain't going to be happy anywhere. I've read wonderful, empowering stories of residents of Camposol. Live and let live, please. Thank you.
