You made LA sounds like Los Angeles 😁🤣. I was just about to ask the question that how could someone living in Los Angeles, next door to LV know much more about Camposol than us living in Spain.

Nice try, my friend  Jaz007. Another spy 007 on the prowl.

HI Fem90 - I might not live full time in Camposol (but do own a property within Camposol), but when the time is right, I will move to Camposol with Mrs 007.

I wonder why, if you own a fully payed property, you still need to have a minimum of 2000 euros on your bank accounts to become resident.

Don't know anything about €2,000 in you bank...but I do know you need proof of a regular monthly income or €700 per person going into your bank account..and proof of where you are getting the money from... before you are accepted as a resident.

Lydia1953  PALS is our solicitors as well. I will find out more about this. I don't want to lose all my benefits in the UK with regards to free health care, dental care and so on.  Hence, I will seriously consider remaining non resident.

Fem90 the problem is you are not allowed to stay in Spain for more than 180 days in a row without becoming resident. A big advantage is free healthcare when you are retired and resident. Even major surgery is free of charge here. Only dental care you have to pay. We don't have a home in Belgium anymore so we plan to stay anyway. But it annoyes me that they can decide how much money you should have in your bankaccount if you have a steady income.

Lydia1953, this is exactly my point. If you are retiree, your house is fully paid for, why must the government of the day insist that you must have at least minimum monthly income of €2000 before you are granted a residency? Let's assume your pension is a little bit short of €2000, and you able to meet all your monthly commitments, wouldn't they still consider your application for residency?

Fem90, In fact it's not about the monthly income, as I understood it, it's the balance on your account that should be at least 2000 euros. In the house we bought, everything that could break down did, so all those repairs took all our savings. We are still crawling out of the well...Anyway I sent an email to PALS asking what we are expected to do now, since we wanted to become residents in january.
