It depends on how internet-savvy you are. We have telephone banking with a UK bank, a digital certificate here and register with as many official organisations in both countries as we can. Recently we changed the destination for one state pension - it took one phone call and it stopped coming to Spain and went to the UK when the next payment was due, only a week later.

You could talk to the DWP in Newcastle before you leave if you are a pensioner and intend to get health cover via the S1 form making it a cheaper phone call but in the past they even rang us back to our spanish mobile to sort something out.

The internet is probably more reliable than Correos.
