Hi, we are staying in Camposol from 10th May - 17th May to get advice, meet expats, look at property to buy for moving on retirement this year.

Is there a meeting place-club- restaurant-bar, that we can meet up with some expats to talk to?

We have rented a Villa on sector A.

Any help would be most welcomed.

The last thing you want to do is arrange to meet up with a stranger ..and tell them how much money you have....keep yourself to yourself ....anything you want to know you can ask on hear without giving your identity away... Just about every crook and 10 Bob millionaire from all over the EU will end up in Spain... trying to screw someone and make a fast buck....so tread carefully  especially in Spain. good luck enjoy.

Sounds a bit negative from FF...!!

When we did something similar we simply went to the bars and restaurants on B and struck up conversations with people. Mostly they are happy to speak and we got a lot of helpful information. Ultimately we bought on D and still are only holidays guys as we have yet to retire but counting down the days and do not regret the purchase

Nothing negative about what I said at all...you frequently hear of people getting fleeced for everything they have in Spain...or worse still murdered ...only a few years back a Welsh couple got murdered in Spain... They had been overheard by crook's in a bar.. that they were looking for a property to buy ....they then got taken to a property and held captive for a number of day's ...the husband was then taken to a cash point to draw money out ...believing that both him and his wife would be released... when he was taken back to the property ...that the crooks had only rented they were both murdered...I am not paranoid by a long chalk but I do think the sunshine and the cheap booze tends to make people forget .. better to keep your eyes and ears open and you mouth shut you would not do this in the UK ...you will also learn more that way..some people have extremely short memories... Remember all the break ins around 25 per week around 5 year's back ...most carried out but the large influx of shite from the UK that we had renting on Camposol...thank God the majority have gone ...we still have break ins but only 1 or 2 per month I suppose you could class this as normal on a large urbanisation like Camposol ......Camposol is a very friendly place and joy to live in enjoy.

Please do not be put off by comments made. Camposol is actually safer than many parts of the UK. The community spirit here is so positive and although we haven't been here long we know we haven't made a mistake.

Must admit that a lot of what has been posted is news to me and IMO, does not reflect life on Camposol at all. Of course any big urbanisation will face issues at some stage but seeing as the majority of residents are law abiding permanent residents I think the potential issues are minimised greatly

Agree that you should not be put off at all as I am sure you will enjoy life on Camposol especially now that the Murcia council has agreed to take control and start resolving some of the basic issues that have been around for a while (i.e. street lighting)
