As part of the official Mazarron Council response to the refugee crisis resulting from the war in Ukraine, a collection desk for donations is being set up at the social centre on B Sector, Camposol. This will be run by volunteers from Camposol.

Initially, collections will be made between 10am and 2pm on weekdays, commencing on Thursday 10th March.  Donations of non perishable products, tinned foods, nappies and medical products such as bandages, analgesics, first aid boxes etc , as well as torches and batteries, can be accepted. Goods donated, will be grouped together with others donated at other collection points in Mazarron for forwarding to Ukraine.

EDIT: we have now been requested to also provide Baby formula, Hygiene products (including feminine hygiene products) and for our 4-legged friends dog food and cat food.

This is a moving situation and it is likely we will receive new requests on an almost daily basis.

What can you do?

1)    Please give generously to this initiative. The people of Ukraine are suffering and need our support.

2)    If you have some time to volunteer on the help desk, it will help us to maintain the facility in the coming weeks and hopefully expand the opening hours.

We have had a brilliant response so far. Please give what you can. Very impressed with how many people have been so thoughtful and generous.  You are all wonderful.

Hi there,

Sorry, I cannot help with San Jsvier. We are working with the local council in Mazarron. It may be an idea to talk to the local council there. They may be able to help.

Good luck

Hi there,

Thank you for getting in touch.  We are currently collection from 10am to 2pm each weekday at the social centre on Camposol B sector.  We ask that volunteers do a 2 hour slot, either between 10 am and noon  or noon to 2pm. Some people do one day, others do more, however any offer is great, as it means we can spread the times out between us.

Let me know if you need any further information,

Thanks again

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to comment. You may find it more helpful to create your own post, identifying what you are doing to try and alleviate the terrible situations in all the countries you refer to. I am sure that potential donors will be interested to learn how they can donate through the mechanisms you are establishing to support these efforts.

Good luck and I hope you are successful.

Hi there,

Your question was:

“ Hence my question is: WHERE ARE THE DONATIONS & OUTRAGE FOR ALL THOSE NATIONS?”

I simply asked what you are doing and what mechanisms you have put in place to support these countries, so that people may donate?

You have not been shown the door, as you put it, otherwise you would not have been able to reply.

As to my motivation, not that it is anything to do with your post, but over the past 10 years I have been to Ukraine many many times and have friends there, so I do know where it is and can identify it’s location. Can you say the same about the countries you mention?

As I said, you would probably be better to create your post, where you can identify the measures you are taking to raise money for these deserving countries.

Once again, good luck with your efforts.
