Hi
It depends on what property you will live or rent in and of course many other factors but I will give you an idea of ours. We have a 2 bed Rebecca with a hot tub but no pool for 2 people.
Electric the last 2 months with air con on at night living here full time has amounted to nearly €275. We have now switched suppliers. We had family over in August so more air con was on.
Gas for hot water only is €15 for a refill. It lasts months.
Tpft car insurance for 2.0l 7 seater 230 ish
House buildings and contents €120 ish per annum
Health insurance just over 1700 for both under age 60 no pre existing conditions.
We are finding that €75 a week has been sufficient for weekly shop which includes bottle of gin wine and beer.
Diesel around €60 a month but depends how often we go out of Camposol.
Telecable Internet €30 a month
Iptv for 3 tvs €150 per annum
Water around €55 every 2 months
We have a log burner but we havent stocked up for winter yet.
Ibi just over €200 per annum
You will probably need a tax accountant so you need to find costs and factor those in. Ours are 60 each per annum along with any tax bill you may be liable for and non residents tax if applicable
You will then need to go on padron (€2 each) and get residencia if living here full time and swap driving licence. Cost for these if paying someone to do it for you is around 150 each
Drink is cheap here if going out socialising. Meals out are reasonable. Some places you can get a menu del dia for €10 each. Chinese on b is only 6.95. Marianos do very cheap lunches from €2. Of course there are other places where you can pay on average €15 for a main course. We drove to a village and a beer and wine were only €2.50 for both.
We are still using our UK mobile phones but depending on usage around 11 a month

Mortgage free is a good place to start...but it really depends on what property you have bought and things like does it have a swimming pool and so on... although eating / drinking out is cheaper the only other thing I found cheeper is I.B.I (council tax) on a yearly basis electricity and water bills work out the same as the UK /food in Spanish supermarkets tends to be the same price or more expensive ...life in Spain tends to revolve around socializing / eating and drinking out so you should allow for this...the majority of OAPs that I know have sold the house in the UK and bought a cheap place in Spain and use the proceeds from the house sale to top up the state pension.. Warning you will not get by on just a UK state pension on it's own .

Exactly. My council tax in Surrey was nearly £3000 a year here it is around €200 a year so thats a big saving which pays for car and house insurance and electric and gas for the year at least! Plus we are saving more as no TV licence to pay for
