It is illegal in Spain for private individuals to install and operate cctv cameras at their homes, unless they pay a

commercial security company to monitor the filmed footage on their behalf. - another crazy Spanish law ! Methinks it's all

designed to protect Spanish security companies from competition. Why not try a "Ring" doorbell you can secretly

monitor from your phone?

Where did you get that from? Private houses are different from communities and I've seen no legislation saying you have to employ a company to monitor your CCTV recordings. I'd be interested to read it if you can post a link.

About 6 months ago I needed to upgrade my house security and I bought a camera from Amazon. Trying to get someone to install it for me was a whole different ballgame. I was advised by more than one security company that

it was not allowed. -  I had to buy everything from a legal security company and have it independently monitored.

Such a hassle - I just returned it to Amazon and gave up!

They would say that wouldn't they? They want your money and the annual fee! Did you ask to see the legislation, or did you just take their word for it. I don't think companies such as Amazon will sell items which are illegal.

You posted that before I did,

Alarms & monitoring companies are a total waste of time in my opinion.

The length of time taken to respond & cctv being about useless these days as most of the naughty people wear masks or balaclavas .

Cheaper option is some dummy cameras & some professionally made signs.

Oh & don't go mouthing off about your new Rolex in the bars................

My opinion only.
