On several occasions now we have all seen the Police and Police helicoper on Camposol.

I hope we all  feel this is great, and hope they catch who ever they are after.

With them just being there it is great for Camposol.

However, it seems that some residents are straight on FACE BOOK and letting every one know that the Police are here,( STOP,) think about what you are doing, do you not think the people they are after look at face book, and are therefore tipped of, and become harder to catch.

Or are certain residents tipping of the people the Police are after for a reason ?

Let the Police come as many times as they can, it is great to have them here, if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.

Support the POLICE, IT IS FOR ALL OUR SAFETY AND SECURITY.

fear.

We need to catch the people who are breaking into our properties, and those who are robbing our residents, so support the Police, stay of face book, and let them do there job, support them,

I hope I don't come across as cynical but has this sudden show of law enforcement got anything to do with the upcoming elections do you think?

The street cleaners only appear around election time as well.

Hi sdb137

Our friends have asked us if we wouldn't mind when we're over next month to go and reckie a property they have found on Campasol via an online estate agent and to get a feel for the place but when I read things like this......

"We need to catch the people who are breaking into our properties, and those who are robbing our residents"

I don't really know what to make of the place, is it as bad as that sounds, what is the place like is it safe to walk round at night or is it a no go, honest opinions would be great please from people who live there and for people who have moved away, and for what was your reasons if bad did you move?

Thanks All

I would probably agree, but those broken into, and robbed, would probably not agree, but we want zero crime, and we can get it if we all support each other.

I would agree that crime in Spain is probably less than in the UK, mainly because Spain spends money on Police, whereas in the UK it literally operates on a shoestring and the goodwill of officers! However, I have friends in Spain whose properties have been broken into and it's not nice.

Because we have all the security doors and bars surrounding everything, thieves who are determined to break in cause a huge amount of damage to the property which is a costly and inconvenient job to put right, apart from the emotional aspect. Invariably very little is actually stolen, but obviously little things are important to these thieves. One villa had windows and surrounds destroyed and all that was taken was bed linen!

Alarms aren't much good when your phone goes and you're back in the UK. Good neighbours are the best....look out for each other and just hope the thieves stay away.

Hi ,

It is safe, but we are trying to encourage the police to be present on patrols, yes we have breakins, but we are trying to make it zero crime.

There may be more crime in the UK, but Camposol wants zero crime, and we can achieve it if all help out.

Its a great place to live, every one helps each other, but one break in is one to many.

Hope they do not break in is not enough, we have to stop it all.

I was interested in a conversation where some one said if every resident gave ONE EURO per month to a fund, we could have our own police officer, and give them a permenant office on Camposol.

What a brilliant idea, but how willit happen ???????
