Good Morning All,

I am currently looking to purchase a property in Camposol. At the moment it would be for frequent visits as too young to retire and presume not many jobs available for a permanent move.

If i purchase a property, after completion please could any of you advise of the weekly/monthly running costs, such as waste, water, council taxes etc........

Thank you! :-)

Hi what type of property are you going to consider as costs would reflect the type, size, if a pool etc but to give you a rough idea

2 bedroom Rebecca with conservatory and hot tub, air con and log burner

ibi 230 a year you get a 5 % discount if paid by direct debit

Water bi monthly normally about 52 this includes rubbish charge

Cable Internet 30 a month

Electric average 50 a month but higher in summer when air con is on

Logs 85 half tonne

House insurance buildings and contents 165

Gas for hot water last bottle was 18 and lasts about 4 months

Post box at best wishes 85

Chimney sweep 70 annually

Private health care horrendous

Taxes are high. You will pay annual non residents tax.

Bank charges are high so best to use wise or revolut for direct debits

"At the moment it would be for frequent visits " Assuming you are not an EU citizen (e.g. British) you will have to keep a close eye on how long you are out of the UK and in the Shengen area, and how much time you spend in Spain (if you are EU) as at 183 days in a calendar year you will be tax-resident, and have to declare all worldwide income and foreign assets valued at €50,000.

SunnySpain's comments look about right.

Thank you so much that is really helpful :-) I'm not exactly sure on property type yet, thinking on Sector A or B though as wouldnt have transport. Ideally would like private pool but the communal pools look nice too. Thanks again!

thank you for your help. wow it seems quite complicted when you look into it properly. I was going to consider renting it out for certain periods but that again adds alot of stress/complications it would seem. I think we will just stick to visits now and keep within the limit. there's alot of press coverage regarding spain at the moment in british papers regarding 100% taxes etc on property, hoping its just false news though!

You are welcome. Good luck with your search. The 100% needs to be passed and voting in parliament. Reading between the lines I think it means he wants to double the property tax eg for arguments sake currently 10% and it would move to 20% and not 100% taxed on the value of the property. I could be wrong though.

Alarmingly, it looks like the proposal is 100% of the property value. Let's hope it's only a proposal. I'm sure there will be clarification, soon hopefully.
