Hello, just some advice please. We moved here Aug last year, and so never had an IBI bill or car tax bill. Can anyone say how people who have never had one get these bills and when, as I don't trust they will be posted or reminders sent, and do not want to miss any payment deadlines.

More information needed: have you moved here from the UK, or another part of Spain?
Is the car on Spanish plates, and when did you buy it?
Have you bought a house or are you renting?

Use this website for IBA and Car Tax https://agenciatributaria.carm.es in Spain different regions pay for IBA and Car Tax on different months, our car tax is due in May/June and IBA is due in October 2023 see the attached photos use the drop down menu on the website our region is Mazarron which is still showing 2022 so I guess no bills are due, someone else may have more information but this is what we use.

Yes that is what I use as well.
But don't forget that the amount on the IBI bill will differ from what gets taken by direct debit from your bank account.
You get a 5% discount for paper free billing.

Thanks did take a look but also got no 2023 documents yet. I think it's worthenasking our solicitor if she set the IBI up on DD.

Your car tax is paid by the person who owned the car in January 2022. New bills for 2023 will be online in June 2023, as mentioned by others. If your lawyer has set up IBI to be paid by DD, it will be taken on or around 6th October each year. Most lawyers set up your electricity, water and IBI for you. You can ask them but you won’t be sure till next October and the money comes out. If it doesn’t, you still have six weeks or so to pay it directly.
