Very helpful member
Hi there
8% purchase tax, lawyers fees etc. allow for about 10% on top of the purchase price to cover these costs.
Once purchased, you will pay IBI (Spanish equivalent of council tax but much cheaper) between €200 and €450 pa depending on house size.
Assuming you are non resident, you will pay non resident tax annually, which has gone up from 19% to 24% since Brexit. It is not a huge bill and I am sure someone who pays it can give you an idea.
On top of that, you have général bills, electricity monthly and water (between €50 and €80 depending on usage, pool etc) every two months.
Some people have monitored alarms, pool cleaners, gardeners, window cleaners, key holding services.
Bank charges are quite expensive if you use a traditional bank. Many people use online banks such a Wise or Revolut to pay their bills. Much cheaper.
Good luck and I hope that helps for a start
