Hi, that's a really wide open question!  I have a holiday home west of Murcia towards Caravaca de la Cruz and would be happy to help but could you be more specific?  Thanks 😀

Hi , i suppose it is an expansive question. We are living on the Costa del Sol atm and fancy a change ,we were just wondering what the choice of shops, facilities etc.are in the area. Are there many Brits? Are the bars dog friendly as we have two? Are there many clubs there like walking, cycling etc.Are there any charity shops in the area? We both like reading and down here we can get 4 books for a euro.

I hope this helps

Murcia is a huge and diverse area so impossible to answerunless you have a particulare area in mind…city, town, village, coast, mountains, campo?

Hi, Bricer, I'm Spanish and maybe mine is not the kind of answer you are looking for, but I think I can help you a little to know about this area, as I'm from Caravaca.

We have a good range of shops: supermarkets, clothes shops, bookshops, furniture, sports, etc. In fact, everything you can need for your day to day life, you can find it in Caravaca. We receive people from other little towns around every weekend that come to shop here.

We don't have a proper cinema, but there's a beautiful old theatre used as a cinema as well, but of course, all the films are in Spanish. But at the theatre, you can attend to different spectacles during the year. It's a very alive town and there are many events almost every weekend.
Besides, you can do all your paperwork here because there are administrative office for everything (well, almost everything).

There are some expats living here, and in Cehegin, close to Caravaca (7 km).

I'm not sure about bars dog friendly, but of course, you can take you dogs to a bar terrace, and the weather will help you with that.

There's a charity shop where you can buy books, but not many, to be honest. You can find them at the book shops, but not so cheap. But there's a public library and I suppose that there are books in English.

Regarding sport clubs, as far as I know, there's a big hiking expat group in the whole northwest, and they are very active. On the other hand, the town hall organizes some excursions every month for everybody.

I'm sure that you could find interesting things to do over here.

If I can help you in any other way, just ask me. :)

Regards!
